Surface and Population

The city is located at the convergence of two major rivers: the Daule and the Babahoyo, only 70 km from the Pacific Ocean.
It has an area of 345 square kilometers, which is made up of urban development, green areas and a stream. The Guayaquil canton has 16 urban and 5 rural parishes.
It is the main city of the country, with an approximate of 2'560.505 inhabitants. Its population is a group made up of people born in the city, as well as migrants from other provinces and countries, whose characteristics are to be kind, hospitable, sociable, hardworking, creative and always with the purpose of getting ahead.
